Publishing and Multimedia

MULTIMEDIA

These courses are about the design and the implementation of interactive multimedia applications: video on demand, home shopping and games, videoconferences and groupware, multimedia authoring and worldwide web.
The subjects of the course change each semester and are taken from the following list:

• Multimedia Applications;
• the Human Senses (sight and hearing) and their impact on video compression;
• Filing and Transmitting analogical and digital media;
• the Structure of Multimedia Documents (ex. OLE, OPEN DOC, MIME, etc.);
• Authoring Multimedia Content.

PUBLISHING COURSE

This is a one-of-a-kind course in Italy that combines new and traditional media according to the continuous changes of the publishing enterprise. Some aspects of both periodical or newspaper publishing and media combination or digital publishing are given so students can learn how to create, manage, release and deal with data through multiple means (books, e-books, periodicals, web sites, blogs, podcasts, living networks, etc.).
